This smoky, bittersweet cocktail combines mezcal’s earthy intensity with the bitter depth of Punt e Mes and the richness of coffee liqueur. Chocolate bitters tie everything together with a roasty, slightly bitter finish. A brooding, complex drink with martial-arts-level impact—sip slowly and with respect.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 ½ oz (45 ml) mezcal
  • ¾ oz (22.5 ml) Punt e Mes
  • ½ oz (15 ml) coffee liqueur
  • 1 dash STB chocolate bitters

METHOD

  1. In a mixing glass, combine the ingredients
  2. Stir until chilled
  3. Strain over ice into a rocks glass
